about the power conversion, however you also have to realize that even if your running a 2k rpm, or 6k rpm the electric setup will still draw the same "power" from the system to pump the same amount of fluid, even then you do not need to have it pump as much at speed, hence speed sensitive power steering, I beleive on the stock setup this is done with a check valve, on an eletric setup this could just be done with a voltage regulator, meaning at higher speed it could pump less for less sensititve steering. same principle applies to electric fans. At least that is how i see it.
